Whether it is a cheerful song that makes you want to get on your feet and dance or a heartfelt ballad that brings tears to your eyes, you cannot doubt that music is indeed, powerful. Recently, veteran action star and “Pilipinas Got Talent” judge Robin Padilla was spotted getting emotional after a rap duo performed their original song for the competition.
Jhanskie, together with his friend Ystil Uno, earned the judges’, especially Robin’s respect and attention, after rapping a song that was inspired by the mishaps brought by the Super Typhoon Yolanda.
While the rappers were relaying their heartfelt lyrics, Robin Padilla could not hold back his tears.
The judge stood quietly during and after the performance. Knowing that the action star was deeply moved by the lyrics, Kapamilya star Angel Locsin asked him to speak up. The emotional PGT judge praised and thanked the duo for a stirring performance. He said:
Maraming salamat.”
At this point, one of the rappers shared his personal experience during the tragic devastation Super Typhoon Yolanda brought last November 2013. He said that he lost his grandmother during the storm, and her remains have never been found ever since the typhoon unleashed its wrath in the area.
The rapper added:
Angel commented with regards to hip-hop culture:
She also hoped that more people would hear their song, as this may serve as an inspiration to other people.
Robin said that the two utilized hip-hop well to relay such a wonderful message.
PGT judge Freddie M. Garcia expressed his admiration for them and said:
“You used rap to tell your story and you did it very well. Ang galing niyo.”
The duo rapper, earning the nods of Angel Locsin, Robin Padilla, and Freddie M. Garcia, will advance to the next round. Meanwhile, Vice Ganda said no and told them that they still need to further improve their rapping skills.
