Isang Lalaki, pinatunog ang isang bell at maya-maya ay may lumapit sa kanyang nilalang na ikinamangha ng marami!
An old Japanese scuba diver claims to have made friends with a giant fish whom he has been visiting underwater for the past 25 years. Hiroyuki Arakawa, 79, says he has been friends with Yoriko, an Asian sheepshead wrasse, ever since he saved its life.
According to the diver, he found Yoriko on the brink of death and tried to save her by feeding her five crabs a day for ten days. The wrasse eventually regained her strength and lived. This was the start of a special friendship between the two, with Arakawa regularly visiting Yoriko to give her a kiss on her forehead.
An overseer at one of the Shinto religion’s shrines called torii, Arakawa frequently goes for a dive beneath Japan’s Tateyama Bay. Whenever he’s there, he rings a bell to wait for his wrasse friend, who arrives shortly after.
The old man then pets the giant Yoriko and strokes its bulbous head. He even removes his dive mask and regulator to give the wrasse a kiss, which the latter does not refuse.
According to Daily Mail UK, Arakawa shared with Great Big Story:
“I guess she knows that I saved her and that I helped her when she was badly injured. I think anyone can get an animal’s attention by feeding them.”
Hiroyuki Arakawa started diving when he was 18. He said he thinks Yoriko has human-like features, and that the fish recognizes him every time he visits. It has become a habit for him to pet Yoriko and bring her a treat whenever he checks on the shrines, forging their unlikely friendship.
More than twenty years after almost dying. Yoriko seems to be in good health. For his part, Arakawa said being able to make friends with this Asian sheepshead wrasse has given him an amazing sense of accomplishment in his heart.
